Missy Broome - A Coal Miner's Daughter:

As a young girl, I saw the Loretta Lynn movie 'Coal Miner's Daughter' and realized my plans for the future:
to grow up to be a country singer. The plans were scrapped when I realized I have the voice of a raccoon and couldn't
master a bar chord on the guitar. I would always sew outfits for my pets, and since they seemed to like them so much,
I decided to make things for people. Later, I discovered the world of Seventeen magazine and became obsessed with fashion
and the creative personalities behind it. After attending The Fashion Institute of Design, followed by Orange Coast
College, I became the head accessories designer at Paul Frank Industries. I then went on to freelance for various
companies, and am now currently designing accessories at Roxy. I also teach a design course at Orange Coast College
where I share my experiences with students and hopefully inspire them to creatively express themselves in their work.

In my free time, I love to indulge in the simple pleasures of reading Star and People magazine and watching bad TV.
